LOCTITE 5972 HIGH-TEMPERATURE SEALANT

BLACK HIGH TEMPERATURE GASKET MAKERS FOR ENGINES

LOCTITE® 5972™ is a slow-drying viscous paste. It remains pliable and flexible and is designed to seal flanges, threaded connections and fasteners at temperatures from -45°C to +315°C. It can be effectively applied to cork, paper, plastic and metal surfaces.

Field of Application:

Typical applications include sealing gaskets, flanges and threaded connections, aircraft heating systems, manifolds, pipe fittings, steam lines, gear boxes and cover plates.

Advice:

This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen-rich systems and should not be selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidising materials.

Advantages:

Easy application, increases reliability at high temperatures, cuts repair times, reduces breakdowns, resistant to a wide range of oils, fuels, lubricants and chemicals, seals at pressures up to 34 MPa

Instructions:

1. Clean and dry all surfaces thoroughly.
2. Apply LOCTITE® 5972™ onto both surfaces and spread with spatula or putty knife.
3. Assemble parts immediately while still wet. Secure or screw in to required specifications.
4. Wait 3–5 hours before using the equipment.
5. Re-torque will not be necessary after the product has cured.
