"Legislative Decree No. 209 of 24 June 2003, implementing directive 2000/53/EC. From 1 July 2005 the exemption expires for any vehicle with lead counterweights mounted. From July 2005, every vehicle with a capacity of up to 35 quintals is obliged to have zinc alloy balancing counterweights mounted. Motorcycles and industrial vehicles over 35 quintals are currently excluded from the decree.
