The clamps are a component in the riveter traction system used to grip, pull and break off the riveting mandrel.
The choice of clamp set will vary depending on the riveter and the rivet material to be pulled.
Instructions:
How do the clamps work?
They fit conically into the clamp holder, and the rear spring pushes them forwards and holds them in place.
When the outer sleeve is screwed on, the clamps are pushed backwards by the nozzle (the depth of the nozzle determines the opening width of the clamps, i.e. the longer the nozzle, the larger the diameter of the mandrel that can be pulled); the clamps then open and are ready for the rivet to be inserted.
Operating the riveter pulls the assembly backwards, and the spring forces the clamps to close around the rivet.
Continuing the stroke, the clamps pull the mandrel until it breaks off, ensuring that the bushing deforms.
