The metal-rubber rings are self-sealing elements. They are not stopping devices, however and are therefore not suitable for dynamic applications. They are composed of a galvanised steel plain washer with a vulcanised oil-resistant synthetic rubber trapezoid section seal inside the internal diameter. They are normally used for the sealing of hexagonal head screws without through holes, Whitworth hexagonal head screws with through holes and round slotted head metric screws. Their primary application is in the field of hydropneumatics and in general mechanics. Resistant to mineral oils, water, air, emulsions, petrol and diesel. Thermal resistance: 120°C . Installation: surfaces must be completely flat. They must be installed in such a way that the rubber rests directly on the thread when compressed. For a perfect seal, through holes should not be bevelled, but must be well deburred. To centre the sealing ring, countersink the hole. Can be used several times if correctly fitted.
